How Does It Work?

GUNRID is a state-of-the-art textile coated with a mineral-based photocatalyst that reduces air pollution when activated by light, both natural and artificial. As a window treatment, it can be placed in every room without consuming much space, which is both clever and convenient.

When Will It Be Available?

This technology is currently in the testing phase, and has been proven to be work safely and effectively through lab tests. Next, GUNRID will be tested in actual home settings to prove its efficacy. If things go according to plan, it will be rolled out in 2020.

As of this writing, the feasibility of this innovative textile when it comes to producing other products remains unclear. Also, IKEA has yet to mention if GUNRID can come in colors other than white.
